Magdalena is best known for her intense, traditional style, which focuses on the musicality, grace, power and rhythm of Flamenco. She inspires students and audiences alike, sharing her first-hand experiences in Spain with flamenco communities across the U.S.

All classes will be held at Anda Flamenco School located in the second floor tower in the interior of the Ivy Building for the Arts, 2637-27th Ave S, Minneapolis, 55406.

To qualify for early registration, checks must be received no later than Saturday March 5. They should be made payable to "Anda Flamenco" and mailed to: Anda Flamenco, 2637 27th Ave So, Minneapolis, MN 55406. Prepayments will be accepted at the door on the first day of class for the entire series of classes. Classes will also be available on a drop-in basis.

A Welcoming Reception Thurs March 17, 7 – 9 pm

Anda hosts a “meet-the-teach” party at our studio. This is a great excuse to eat, drink and laugh together before the hard work begins! (sign up available for privates with Magdalena)

Flamenco Revealed - A Class for Flamenco Fans, Friends, Dancers & Musicians! Saturday March 19, 4:30 – 6:30 pm

This class is full of information for everyone who loves flamenco! There’ll be a brief overview of the historical and cultural elements and regional variations of flamenco. Practice your basic palmas (hand clapping) and jaleos (shouts of encouragement used to encourage the performers). Then explore the ways performers communicate with each other onstage. There will be time for questions from performers and fans alike!

$25 early registration / $30 pay at the door / +$10 your friend’s early registration / +$15 your friend pays at the door

Cante por Tangos Saturday March 19, 1:30 – 2:30 pm / Cante por Sevillanas Sunday March 20, 1:30 – 2:30 pm

Learn snippets of tangos, like what dancers sing onstage between numbers in a Spanish cuadro, like “Tiene La Cara” or “La Molinera,” etc. And it’s about time we learned to sing a Sevillana, que no? Relax before, after, or between your dance class with a cante lesson!

$35 both classes, early prepay / $40 both classes prepay at the door /$25 per class drop-in / $15 per class w/dance class

Intro Classes Saturday March 19 / Sunday March 20, 10:30 - 11:30am

Basic technique instruction in armwork, footwork, markings and turns.

$45 both classes early prepay / $50 both classes at the door / $30 per class drop-in

Jaleos Extremeños - Adv Beginning / Intermediate Friday March 18 and Monday March 21, 6:00 - 7:30 pm / Saturday March 19 and Sunday March 20, 2:30 – 4:00 pm

This is a rhytym and dance style similar to bulerias, but with the earthy weight of tangos.

$105 all classes early prepay / $120 all classes at the door / $35 per class drop-in

La Caña - Advanced / Professional Friday March 18 and Monday March 21, 7:30 – 9:00pm / Saturday March 19 and Sunday March 20, 12:00 – 1:30 pm

We're sure that anyone taking this class has already seen/heard Caña.

$105 all classes early prepay / $120 all classes at the door / $35 per class drop-in

BOTH CHOREO CLASSES - $185 early prepay / $200 w/cante class

BOTH CHOREO CLASSES - $ 215 prepay at the door / $230 w/cante class

BOTH CHOREO CLASSES - $ 60 per day drop-in / $75 w/cante

Private Classes Friday & Monday afternoon, Tuesday late morning

$70 per hour, $120 for two hours
